The Medical Clinic IV, under the direction of Professor Martin Reincke, has 135 inpatient beds, and a large number of outpatient clinics and day clinics. The interdisciplinary nature of medical care is an essential feature of the clinic, and includes all specialties at the highest university level. The clinic is involved in the acute and emergency care of the city of Munich, and has an interdisciplinary emergency department and reception center for all acute internal diseases. It is one of the world’s leading sites for the treatment of primary aldosteronism, and also hosts Germany’s National Conn registry, which is used for multicenter data collection on the diagnosis, therapy and disease course of Conn’s syndrome.
